We are pleased to welcome the Acemoon Dance Group to our Nowruz Festival. Led by Mrs. Mojgan Zand, the group is dedicated to showcasing the rich culture of Iran and preserving its artistic traditions while sharing them with younger generations in Australia.

With years of experience performing at cultural festivals, Iranian celebrations, and multicultural events across the country, Acemoon has become a well-recognized name in the community.

Their performances blend traditional and modern elements, using movement and rhythm to tell stories of history, love, and unity. Through their graceful and expressive dances, they offer a window into Iran’s artistic heritage, connecting cultures and creating a memorable experience for audiences of all backgrounds.

The group showcases a diverse range of Persian dance styles, from the energetic beats of Bandari to the graceful movements of Kereshmeh, Turkish, and Kordi dances, celebrating the beauty of Persian culture through movement.

Nasim and Hediye, the talented dancers behind Bahar Dance Group, met in Perth, brought together by their shared passion for dance. For them, dance is more than just an art—it is a universal language that connects people, transcends borders, and speaks to the heart.

Through their performance, they share joy, unity, and the spirit of celebration, reminding us that dance has the power to heal, inspire, and bring people together.

We are excited to have them perform at our festival and look forward to an unforgettable showcase of Persian dance and culture.

We are pleased to welcome Yazdan Afshar to our Nowruz Festival. Originally from Khuzestan, Iran, Yazdan has been living in the beautiful city of Perth for the past two years. With over 20 years of experience playing the Ney-Anban (Persian bagpipe), he brings a rich musical tradition to our celebration.

In addition to showcasing the soulful sounds of the Ney-Anban, Yazdan will also perform Khayyam Khani Bushehri, a traditional musical recitation inspired by the poetry of Omar Khayyam, which is deeply rooted in Bushehri culture. His performance will add a unique and immersive cultural experience to our festival, celebrating the depth and beauty of Iranian musical heritage.

We are happy to welcome Persia to our Nowruz Festival as one of our featured performers. A talented R&B/Soul singer-songwriter, Persia has been making waves in the local music scene with her powerful vocals and emotive storytelling. With a music degree from the prestigious WAAPA and over five years of experience performing across Australia, she is establishing herself as one of Perth’s top vocal talents.

Persia will be performing a couple of songs for us, bringing her unique blend of soul, passion, and artistry to the stage. Her captivating presence and expressive sound will add a special touch to our celebration, making the evening even more memorable.

We appreciate her being part of this event and look forward to sharing her music with the community.

We are truly honored to have Whadjuk Noongar Elder Uncle Barry Winmar and the Wirrin Marra Middar Dancers open our festival with a Welcome to Country ceremony. Their presence and acknowledgment of the land set the perfect tone for a celebration that embraces cultural respect, unity, and shared traditions.

IranWA and the Iranian community are deeply grateful for Uncle Barry’s participation in this special event. His wisdom and the cultural significance of the Welcome to Country remind us of the importance of connection to land, heritage, and the coming together of diverse communities.

Having this meaningful welcome as the opening of our Nowruz festival reflects our commitment to honoring Indigenous culture while celebrating our own traditions, reinforcing the spirit of inclusivity that defines our event.

The Kereshmeh Group, established in Mandurah in 2014-2015, is a local ensemble that brings together students from diverse backgrounds to learn and celebrate Persian-style dance. The group offers free classes to those who cannot afford them, reflecting Mehri’s passion for sharing her culture with the Mandurah and Peel region communities.

Mehri, the group's leader, teacher, choreographer, and designer, has dedicated herself to bringing the joy of dance to the community. 

Under her guidance, the Kereshmeh Group has performed at numerous events across Mandurah, the Peel region, and Perth, including:
