FAQ

FQ
  • Who supports IranWA financially? What is IranWA’s political aspiration?
IranWA is a not-for-profit organisation and all our finances come from the sales of our event tickets, membership fees, the founders’ personal income and, where applicable, donors and sponsors. Complying with our transparency value, we will clearly declare the name and the entity of the sponsor or donor in the event they contribute to our events and cause financially or non-financially. Also, IranWA’s financial records will be captured and periodically presented to public according to WA’s tax laws. IranWA is an independent organisation and does not exclusively support any particular group or party. Our support goes to local and federal politicians who value cultural diversity and justice on domestic level and stand up for a free and independent Iran and oppose Islamic Republic of Iran on the international scale.
  • Does IranWA represent a specific religion or ideology?
Over the past four decades, Iran has suffered a lot from a religious dictatorship empowered by weapons and capital punishments. Many lives have been lost over the years only justified by bogus claims of religion laws. Here in IranWA, we believe in the equality of people regardless of their faith and religion and we believe that only peaceful coexistence of people of various faiths in a free and fair Iran can guarantee everyone’s well-being and growth.
  • What is IranWA’s policy in regards to royalists, separatists and other political groups?
We believe in and practice democracy in IranWA. We believe the path to growth after the downfall of the Islamic Republic of Iran (current regime) goes through hearing and respecting all the voices and all cultural, ethnic and religious groups should have a say in the future of Iran and play their productive parts through dialogue and understanding with others. We consider all groups in the current uprising against Islami Republic to be Iranian and we commit to hearing their voices and cooperating with them towards our final goal: a free and democratic Iran. We respect all opinions and beliefs in IranWA and we will support them as long as they are being pursued democratically and away from illegal and unethical methods and actions.
  • What is IranWA’s policy about Iran’s flag?
Harmonious with the will of all Iranians both inside and outside Iran in fighting and overthrowing the current dictator regime, we do not acknowledge the current flag as Iran’s legitimate flag. We believe it will be up to the people to democratically choose the flag and the symbols to represent them once this corrupt regime is overthrown. Although we respect other groups’ take on this issue, we believe the issue of the flag is only secondary to the much-needed public awareness and support for the uprising against the regime.
