IranWA Statement on the Current Crisis in Iran

In these breathless and shocking days, like millions of Iranians around the world, we are watching with deep sorrow and anxiety as our homeland, Iran, comes under military attack. This devastating situation is the direct result of the Islamic Republic’s reckless decisions and confrontational policies.

For more than four decades, the ruling regime has pushed Iran into escalating crisis through: the constant promotion of hatred, provocative threats against other nations, ignoring the safety and interests of the Iranian people and sacrificing people’s lives for political gain.

This war is not the choice of the Iranian people.

IranWA stands in full solidarity with all Iranians who are worried about their families and the future of their country. We stand with the people who, despite having no voice in the decisions made by the regime, are the ones paying the ultimate price — with their safety, their rights, and in many cases, their lives.

Like so many Iranians living abroad, we follow the news with constant fear and heartbreak. In times like these, no one should carry the emotional burden alone. Sometimes, even the simple reminder that others are with us can offer a moment of comfort.

Now, more than ever, in these heavy and uncertain days, we need each other — for empathy, for unity, for mutual support, and for the reminder that we are not alone. Wherever we may be in the world, we are all part of a shared pain.

IranWA will do all it can to support the Iranian community by sharing mental health resources and connecting people with professional support services to help ease the emotional toll of this crisis.

We hold onto hope for a swift end to these painful events — and the beginning of a new chapter for Iran: one guided by justice, unity, wisdom, respect for human rights, and a clear break from violence, oppression, and destructive policies.
