As the situation in Iran continues to escalate, many in our community have growing concerns about the safety of loved ones and uncertainty about their own immigration status. IranWA is working closely with relevant government agencies to ensure timely information is available to support the Iranian community here in Western Australia.
We have received the following important update from the Department of Home Affairs:
Visa Support for Iranian Citizens in Australia
If you are an Iranian national currently in Australia and are unable or unwilling to return to Iran due to the current situation, the following visa options may be available to you:
Skilled visas
Family visas
Student visas
Visitor visas
You can check your visa status and conditions using the following tools:
VEVO Visa Entitlement Verification
myVEVO App (Available on Apple App Store and Google Play)
Your Visa Grant Letter
If your visa has a “no further stay” condition (8503, 8534, 8535, or 8540), you may be able to request a waiver under compassionate or compelling circumstances.
