The second official program of IranWA was held on Saturday, February 25th. The event welcomed 45 attendees at the private cinema "The Backlot Perth" under the name "The Right Side of History". In this program, IranWA honored the role of artists in society and celebrated the memory and art of those who stood with the people by choosing the right side of history.
Upon the arrival of the guests shortly before noon, the ceremony began with serving lunch and socializing, providing an opportunity for the dear fellow citizens to talk to each other in an intimate setting.
Inviting the guests to the main hall of the cinema, Fatereh from the IranWA thanked the fellow citizens who once again trusted us and gave us energy by attending, and welcomed those who were with us for the first time. Fatereh also had a short report on the activities of the IranWA team over the past few weeks and gave special recognition to those who had been with IranWA since its inception and had helped us with their guidance and solidarity to reach this point.
In the next part, Arshia Gerami spoke briefly on the topic of "The Banality of Evil," which attracted the attention of the guests. Referring to the German philosopher Hannah Arendt, Arshia presented her theory on the banality of evil. Hannah's theory was that the great evils in human history, especially the Holocaust, were not carried out by blind zealots or mentally ill individuals, but by ordinary people who had accepted the arguments of their governments and nations and therefore considered their actions to be normal behavior.
Screening started by a clip produced by IranWA to display the brave and honorable character of Mohammad Rasoulof, the director.
During a short break after screening the remarkable film "There Is No Evil," for two and a half hours, the guests talked about the film in the lobby while some sweets were served.
Ali a member of IranWA gave a brief review of the film for about 10 minutes which once again received praise from the guests..
Finally, after more than 4 hours , the guests wrapped the event by writing a sentence about their feelings towards Mohammad Rasoulof, the director of the film.
IranWA will present a physical or digital copy of the poster to Mr. Rasoulof, who was aware of the event from the beginning.
