Leaving the birthplace and immigrating to a new country for achieving a standard lifestyle, finding more career opportunities and finally to call the new place; home, comes with some extraordinary challenges in the beginning. Cultural differences, plays a crucial role that could and would affect the adoption process, including finding the first job or suitable career role.
One of our missions here in IranWA, to strengthen the Iranian community, is helping the new arrival migrants from Iran to fill this cultural gap and find their career paths as quickly as possible.
As a start we are proud to announce that IranWA hosted a Free Resume Writing Workshop event with Patrick Harnett, consulting director of Resumes for Dudes at Hillview Intercultural Community Center on Friday August 25th. A group of 20 people including job seekers gathered for a 2 hour workshop, learned the tips and tricks of resume writing in Australian job market. Patrick shared invaluable insights with the audience and ended the session with a non-stop Q&A.
Since we want to boost the momentum, IranWA will continue to provide similar events and workshops that would empower the Iranians in Perth, and give the sense of belonging to a bigger community, called Australia.
