Membership Terms and Conditions

1) Introduction
1.1 These terms and conditions govern your membership of Iranians in Western Australia (IranWA), ABN 25 358 826 352 (the "Organization"). By becoming a member, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
1.2 Membership is open to individuals who support the mission and values of the Organization, which are available on the Organization's website.
1.3 Membership requests will be assessed by the Board of Directors, who reserve the right to approve or reject any membership request at their sole discretion.
2) Membership Requirements
2.1 To become a member, you must complete the membership application form available on the Organization's website and pay the annual membership fee.
2.2 Membership is open to individuals who are 16 years of age or older.
3) Membership Benefits
3.1 As a member of the Organization, you will have access to exclusive events, discounts on events, merchandise, and services provided by supporter businesses, and opportunities to network with other members.
3.2 You will also receive updates on the Organization's activities and events, and opportunities to participate in committees, volunteering activities, and initiatives.
4) Membership Fees
4.1 The annual membership fee is set by the Organization's Board of Directors and is subject to change at any time.
4.2 Membership fees are non-refundable.
5) Membership Renewal
5.1 Membership is valid for one year from the date of payment.
5.2 Members will receive a reminder when their membership is due for renewal.
5.3 Memberships can be renewed online through the Organization's website or by contacting the Membership Officer.
6) Termination of Membership
6.1 The Organization may terminate a member's membership for any reason, including but not limited to failure to comply with these terms and conditions or the Organization's bylaws, conduct that harms the Organization's reputation, or failure to pay the annual membership fee.
6.2 The Board of Directors reserves the right to revoke membership if a member acts contrary to the Organization’s mission, values, or Code of Conduct.
7) Annual General Meeting and Voting Rights
7.1 The Organization will hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM) each year, at which members aged 16 years and older will have the right to vote.
7.2 Members will receive notice of the AGM at least two weeks in advance and will have the opportunity to nominate themselves or others for election to the Board of Directors.
7.3 To nominate as a candidate for the Board, a member must:

Be aged 18 years or older,

Have been a financial member of IranWA for at least 12 consecutive months prior to nomination,

Have actively contributed to the Organization’s activities or committees during their membership.
7.4 Each eligible member is entitled to one vote at the AGM.
8) Amendments to Terms and Conditions
8.1 The Organization reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time.
8.2 Members will be notified of any changes via email or other appropriate means.
8.3 Continued membership following notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the amended terms and conditions.
9) Privacy of Personal Information
9.1 The Organization is committed to protecting members' personal information and ensuring their privacy.
9.2 Personal information collected from members will only be used for purposes of administering membership, communication regarding the Organization’s activities and events, and organizational governance.
9.3 The Organization will not share members’ personal information with third parties without consent, except where required by law.
10) Financial Reports
10.1 Members have the right to request access to the Organization’s financial reports.
10.2 Financial reports will be made available upon request to the Treasurer or the Board of Directors.
11) Confidentiality
11.1 Members agree not to disclose any confidential information relating to the Organization, including financial records, internal procedures, or any sensitive information that could harm the Organization’s reputation.
11.2 Breach of confidentiality may result in legal action and/or termination of membership.
11.3 This confidentiality obligation continues even after membership has ended.
